Good article highlighting the early start to Black Friday deals and some of the best of the early bargains tobe had

The official day for Black Friday 2019 is November 29. However, many retailers have already slashed their prices in an attempt to stay ahead of competitors — including Amazon, which has hundreds of great offers including Lightning Deals (flash sales that last a few hours) and a range of discounts that should last for the rest of the week.

Today, our favourite Amazon Black Friday deal is this pair of Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H9i Wireless Bluetooth Over-Ear Headphones which are almost half price at £230, down from £450. Typical of Bang & Olufsen, these headphones have a great sound quality. They’re also wireless, and Bluetooth-enabled, so you can listen to music even if you don’t have your phone on you.

Our favourite Black Friday deal from Currys PC World is the £220 discount on the KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer, as we reviewed this kitchen staple as the best stand mixer on the market.

Pokers’ Black Friday version of the St.Valentines Day Massacre

Pokers’ Black Friday version of the St.Valentines Day Massacre

The infamous day that changed the Poker Industry

It was a Friday in April 2011 that lives in Poker History as a  Bill signed by President George W Bush had a major effect on online gambling in America

With regulation came safety for players in the United States and across the world and as the years have rolled by, poker players have found a host of changes to the way they play poker online. Thanks to the regulations they’re now safer, more secure and at far less risk of malpractice and cheating. There are four major ways in which online poker has changed since it emerged from the shadow of Black Friday, which we look at now.

a radical effect on the way U.S Citizens could play on-line gambling

  • Large companies faced  civil complaints that sought $3 billion in assets from their  sites
  • Those bosses in the indictment faced years in prison

Online poker was facing something of a turning point back in 2010. The industry had experienced a boom when amateur player Chris Moneymaker qualified for and won, the World Series of Poker via an online qualifier. That, along with the popularity of films such as Rounders, created a thirst […]

Talal ‘Raidalot’ Shakerchi, a successful online poker player who Calvin Ayre suggests has well over $7.6 million in live tournament winnings over the years, claims it is now a much more level playing field for newcomers and experienced professionals alike. “It’s harder than before to label players in distinct groups as everyone has digested the same books, videos, etc. and now has at least some balance in their style,” he said. “There is also a much better range balancing than before and players understand better how to handle middle and weak hands post flop.”

Black Friday – The Lusture Is Off

Black Friday – The Lusture Is Off

Are we changing the way we see Black Friday?

  •  More than 80 percent of shoppers this year said they planned to spend less on holiday merchandise.

  • Retailers have increasingly opted to give away  their Black Friday discounts early to compete

  • Rather shop online than be fighting  crowds at the stores

Black Friday is no longer the beginning of the holiday shopping season. Retailers are finding new ways to reel in reluctant consumers. More than 80 percent of shoppers this year said they planned to spend less on holiday merchandise. In order to win them over retailers are coming out with hard-to-beat promotions two to three weeks early.

Waiting in line all night is a logistical nightmare for most shoppers. “These days shoppers go online to a number of sites and make a list of everything They want and wait until midnight on Friday, when a lot of stores start their sales. That’s actually 9 p.m. Thursday for those on the West Coast, so they can usually get everything they want without leaving the house.”

It seems Black Friday, the traditional first day of the holiday shopping season, has lost some of its shine. The retail phenomenon, which began in the 1960s, occurs each year on the day after Thanksgiving, when stores across the country slash prices on everything from laptops to the hottest […]

We @blackfridaynews think this is an obvious and inevitable evolving  way as the High St and Malls come under more cost pressures and the Millenials use online shopping as second nature and increasingly as their preferred choice

4 Lessons from Black Friday 2018 (based on online retail data)

4 Lessons from Black Friday 2018 (based on online retail data)

Industry Insider imrg.org takes a (cynical?)look at the 2018 data for Black Friday & Cyber Monday Sales and makes some fascinating conclusions, asking if the actual dates are being spread to all of what the named “Blackvember” and that the spending whilst “Frantic” it was not as much as the first forecast.

Also, they conclude that despite the cynical view of the whole event it is still  the largest sales day of the year

Black Friday isn’t just a day, though it is still the largest day of the period in terms of sales volumes by some distance. Instead it has proven itself capable of extending and adapting how it is structured to the extent that it becomes difficult to even say when it begins and when it ends.

the unavoidable timing of the date falling before monthly payday for many has an effect on spending

First, a few numbers, as Black Friday is all about the big numbers. At the start of the month, we said it was more accurate to think of this event as ‘Blackvember’ than Black Friday, as there is never any consensus around when it should start or how long it should go on for; and so it proved.

Black Friday 2018 was (a bit) bigger, bolder, and brighter – but has it out-scaled itself? And, breathe. Black Friday is once again in the rear-view mirror for retailers and now the post-mortem takes place, to understand what happened (and when), how it’s changed again (as it seems to […]
